DAY ONE (Full Day) 9am to 5pm
A CBS Representative will go over the complete coating process and show samples of three dimensional objects coated in the chamber that produce different effects. CBS Rep. will also discuss the use of tooling as a means of shadowing to create different effects, which will enhance the students ability to visualize the finished product.
Shirley will spend the rest of the day one working one-on-one with students using several fusing techniques that students can apply to smaller components to be applied to their final project. (Small AIM kilns will be used to fire smaller components). Shirley will also have design books available to help wtih additional ideas. By the end of the day students will have set up their project in the kilns to be fired overnight.
- Artwork can be 3 dimensional up to 1/2" thickness
- Students can fuse Stringers, Frit, Stacked Glass, etc. to their project
- Other techniques can be applied to the piece prior to coating as well.
DAY TWO (1/2 day) 9am to 1pm
Students will join the coating technician in the tooling & loading of the artwork in the chamber for Dichroic coating.
