Multi-colored CBS Dichroic Glass images custom designed in conjunction with artist Sherburne Slack.   These elaborate images are available in two sizes: Medium (10 pcs. approx. 7/8” X 5/8”) and Large (6 pcs. approx. 1 1/8” – 7/8”).   All packs come in random color combinations and are offered in 90 & 96 COE and PYREX.  Look for even more intricate Technicolor images to be released in the near future.

DICHROIC EMBELLISHMENTS “SHOCK PACKS & “SEA LIFE” PACKS

These intricately cut CBS Dichroic Glass images, custom designed in conjunction with artist Teri Sokoloff, originally came in the shape of Frogs, Butterflies, Lizards and Tropical Leaves.  The newest “Shock Packs” are now available in 5 different Sokoloff designs: “Wavelength,” “Shockwave,” “Electric,” “Current” and “Circuit.”  The new “Sea Life” packs include 4 different, intricately cut, custom designed fish images including a sea horse, blow fish, angel fish and more. 

Customize these Embellishments by adding your own detail to the surface or even etch your own designs into the Dichroic.  Used as a base layer for fusing, lampworking and glass blowing as well.  You can easily make these images your own creation by adding frits, powders, stringers and even other Dichroic colors.  Offered in packs of four pieces, the “Shock Packs” include 2 medium pieces and 2 large pieces in random Dichroic colors.  These new “Shock Packs” are available in all clear or all black glass and presently come in 90 COE only with random Dichroic colors.  Also offered in packs of four pieces, the “Sea Life” Packs come in one size and are available on 90 COE thin black glass only.

Early this year Coatings By Sandberg started coating and stocking several types of Specialty Glass such as System 96 Opal Art & Spirit Glass, System 96 Mardi Gras & Fracture Streamer, 90 COE Chop Stix and more. Based on its popularity CBS now offers 96 COE Specialty Glass Starter Packs in 2” x 4” pieces (12 per pack) and 1” x 8” pieces (12 per pack). These Starter Packs are priced the same as all other Starter Packs and are available immediately.

Our research and development team has done it again! CBS announced and unveiled a new Dichroic Glass pattern at the ISGB in Minneapolis to rave reviews.

A company-wide contest was held to come up with an appropriate name for our new product and both “Top Ramen & “Curly Fries” were considered. The winning name chosen for this innovative pattern was “CORKSCREWS”. Corkscrews is a beautiful pattern similar to Reptilian but with a tighter curly pattern resulting in an intense color palette.

NEW DICHROIC DESIGN AT CBS - RAINBOW 2 PLUS

In the world of Dichroic Glass, the Rainbow 2 is the most difficult to produce. This is true for all manufacturers of Dichroic Glass. Peeling of the coating during the fusing, lampworking and/or blowing process can occasionally take place. Though CBS has the most durable coatings on the market, we too, receive minor complaints from our customers. Because of this very important artist feedback, Coatings by Sandberg, Inc. has “re-designed” its Rainbow 2 coating.

CBS is proud to announce the newly designed “RAINBOW 2 PLUS.” This new Rainbow is more durable and can handle the abuse of high heat. Prior to hotworking, the RB2 PLUS looks darker than normal but then brightens when fired. On black glass there is no evident change in color. The new Rainbow 2 Plus is available immediately, on any glass type . It is priced as a Premium Pattern so is subject to the $15 Dollar pattern charge. Note: Rainbow 2 is still available for those artists that enjoy its unique crazing affects.
